Monet

This painting is called The Luncheon. Monet, a French artist, painted it in the 19th. century.

The painting shows a beautiful garden at noon. At the front, we can see a wooden bench and, next to it, a small tea trolley and a round table covered by a long white tablecloth. On the bench there is a nice umbrella and a purse, and on table there is some fruit, a coffeepot and some cups.

In the picture there are also some people. A child, who is wearing a hat, is sitting on the ground and is playing. And on the background, in front of the house, two women are going for a walk. One of the women is wearing a long white dress and the other is dressed in yellow. We cannot see their faces very well because they are far away.

I like this painting because Monet used a lot of bright colours to paint all the flowers. It is probably spring time and a very sunny and peaceful day.
